Introduction Gallagher Keysafe
The KeySafe was first developed to provide a key issue management system, which could provide an automated register. Over time it also proved that it could reduce the reliance on master keys, mitigate the risk of lost keys and provide access management to a keying system.
Why use a KeySafe?
The KeySafe provides a structure whereby companies are able to:
- Increase security and safety and provide regular intelligence to both the security and safety departments through the use of the existing Cardax infrastructure that forces an event log every time a key is accessed or denied.
- set up a system of personal responsibility and regulation.
- automate the key registry and report on the use of keys by employees.
- have a process for the use of a master key when the need arises.
- assign the access to specific areas to different employees.
- reduce the need to issue GGMK and GM and take away the risk and cost associated with the replacement of ‘personal’ master keys.
- reduce the risk of loss of ‘personal’ keys.
- manage a range of assets, including vehicles and safety isolation / lockout equipment.
- provide visual identification to administration when loss of card or key takes place to grant access to a master key.
- override system from a centrally managed control room during emergencies.
- easily update privileges without key handling.
- reduce the amount of keys cut.
Features of the KeySafe
- Cardax electronic componentry.
- Bilock keying system componentry.
- Cardax proximity card reader componentry.
- Built in CCTV video monitoring of entry. (optional)
- Built in intercom to administration. (optional)
- Sturdy steel constructed cabinet.
- Lockdown on power outage with battery backup.
- Quick-change ability of componentry for maintenance.
Management and Maintenance
The KeySafe uses integrated system software to increase the ease and functionality of the system.
Administration personnel are able to instantly generate reports based on the use of any KeySafe, provide detailed information on who currently has keys out and override the system for safety if an emergency takes place.
Advantages of Non-Issuing of Keys
- Reduce lost keys, especially master keys, as replacement is expensive
- Ability to isolate areas for safety when maintenance is in progress
- Ability to record accountability of all staff or contractors accessing areas
- Convenience of carrying one card instead of a multiple keys
