New functions Cardax v5.20

The development of new functionality for Cardax FT is an ongoing process.
Gallagher Security Management Systems has made a commitment to release a new update at least once a year. The last updated version was released on 2 April 2008: Release v5.20. This update also offers a wide range of new options. Here are just a few:

• Cardax FT now also supports Microsoft Vista Business and Vista Enterprise Editions. Following the release of the next version, Windows 2000 will no longer be supported.
• Cardax FT is now delivered with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
• Lines and shapes can be drawn into site maps. It is also possible to mark certain areas, to depict e.g. an Alarm Zone. Free text may be entered in site maps as well.
• The new version of the GBUS-Universal Reader Interface (URI) is suitable for the integration of 2 Wiegand-readers.
  Cardax FT stands out from most other systems due to the fact that 8 Cardax-readers can be connected directly to a controller with a cable length of up to 200 meters and without additional junction boxes or alike. Sometimes it is practical to do this differtently, e.g. for the integration of existing card readers. For this purpose a GBUS-URI was introduced some time ago, to which 2 Cardax Readers or 1 Wiegand reader can be connected. A version for 2 Wiegand-readers is now available. URI's also have adequate I/O capacity.
• A couple of new features have been added to the high-level integration of Sagem fingerprint readers. Cardax Mifare cards can now be used with Sagem readers and Cardax FT now supports Sagem Readers Series 5xx.
• Additional wizard functionallity has been added.
• The “Cabling Report” is new. In addition to practical cabling overviews, this report also provides other useful information, i.e.: network-addresses, which error messages were configured, which type of locks were installed in a door and which control resistances were used.
• Logon for workstations is now possible with a Mifare-access card. Likewise a card and a PIN can be combined together for registration.
• Cardax FT now also supports multiple monitors. 
• The Cardax FT Controller API has been further extended and can now also be used with 3rd party readers.
• Macro's may result in critical actions. In order to ensure that the correct action has been addressed, an extra step has been introduced requiring positive confirmation of the action.
• Cardax FT now supports the Fargo HDP5000-card printer
• Cardax FT Command Centre v5.20 supports a number of 3rd party security systems thru FT Controller API middleware, for example:
  o SNMP Version 1
  o ASCII-Text Interface
  o Security Escort Interface (Security Escort is a wireless call system developed by Bosch Security Systems). Cardax FT supports Version 2.07.
  o Senstar 100-interface. Senstar 100 is a perimeter security system developed by Senstar Stellar, part of the Magal Group.
  o CIC-Keysecure-interface
  o DigiOp DVR-interface

Cardax FT is a scalable Security Management and Access Control System based on open architecture. Cardax FT features the following interfaces:
• XML
• OPC
• Cardax FT-Controller API
• ActiveX
Cardax FT is suitable for very small and very comprehensive systems as well as for all those in between.
With Cardax FT you can start small and expand as required. However, already existing system parts can always be used.
