Powerfence™

Perimeter security is an area of expertise for experts. Many factors that often can not be influenced, determine the functionality of a Perimeter Security System. Unwanted alarms are a daily phenomenon for many systems. Therefore only one function is available for many systems: to detect if something goes wrong or even worse, has already gone wrong. For years Power Fence™ has proven to adequately solve these restrictions in particular.

How it works - Deterrence

A Power Fence-System involves impulse transmitters and a number of individually placed energized wires (also called a raster). A pulsed electric current is sent along the fence wire almost every second with high voltage impulses but a low level of electricity. This totally safe impulse for humans and animals causes a strong and uncomfortable shock when coming in contact with the wires. Everyone knows from a very early age that electricity is a serious matter. This knowledge combined with the effect of yellow warning signs attached to the Power Fence™-Fence is quite sufficient to deter the intruder from proceeding further. In addition many criminals are familiar with the strong effect of the Power-Fence System. Ultimately in most cases intruders do not even attempt to trespass and a lot of damage is therefore prevented. Exactly the outcome they intended.

How it works - Detection

In addition a Power Fence™-System has an effective detection function. The detection system diligently monitors the impulses within a raster and detects if all impulses arrive at the destination after travelling through the raster. Depending on the setting, the alarm will be activated after 1, 2, 3 or even more missing impulses. Deviations can occur if wires are cut or due to a short circuit in the wires of the raster. Furthermore the earth voltage level is consistently monitored. The alarm will be activated if deviations such as intrusions occur.

Safety and Regulations

As already mentioned, a Power Fence™-System is completely safe for humans and animals. A system supplied by one of their distributors or installers is compliant to all national and international standards, including EN 60335-2-76 newest version, CE-marking, INCERT, etc.
